Somphone Sisenglath is the Managing Director and Founder of Ekphantthana Deposit Taking Microfinance Intuition (EMI). He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of microfinance.

Before founding EMI, he worked as Trainer, Consultant for several projects of ADB, EU, UNDP/UNCDF, GIZ, ADA, and others. At present, he is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lao Microfinance Association. He advocates financial education for young people by leading EMI’s partnership with Aflatoun and other donors to reach more than 45,000 children across 60 schools and encourage them to enrol for the programme.

Mr.  Sisenglath earned his MBA degree from the Asian Institution of Technology, Thailand.
