Mathias Mulumba

Mathias Mulumba is a curriculum customer engagement specialist, agriculture teacher, gender specialist and curriculum developer, who is the current Financial Literacy Coordinator at the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) Kyambogo, Kampala Uganda.

In this capacity, Mathias serves as a member of the Financial Literacy Information Sharing Group (FLISG) of Bank of Uganda [BoU] or Uganda Central Bank. This made him participate in developing the Financial Literacy Core Message as a Vice Chairperson and Member of the Financial Literacy School Working Group for Bank of Uganda. In addition, Mr. Mulumba is leading a team to incorporate and integrate financial literacy in the Uganda School Curriculum for early childhood development, primary school, secondary school, and business, technical, vocational education and training [BTVET].

Mr. Mulumba started his career as a secondary school agriculture teacher/educator and held different positions and transferred service at the position of Deputy Head Teacher and Lecturer of Gender in Agriculture Development to the Faculty of Agriculture, Makerere University. In 2012, Mathias received a Board Governors Distinguished Teaching Service Award of St. Maria Goretti.

Mr. Mulumba holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Curriculum Design and Development from the Open University of Tanzania, a Master’s degree on Gender and Agriculture from the University of Professional Education Larenstein in Deventer, a Bachelor of Education degree from Makerere University, and a Diploma in Education [Agriculture] from the Institute of Teacher Education Kyambogo.
