Why Aflatoun International?

Because Aflatoun is a viable international organisation that wants to bring practical and useful change to the lives of children and young people regardless of their status.

What is your focus as a board member?

Together with the Asia Programme Manager, I am focussing on capacity building of partners, partner interaction, income generation and partner acquisition.

Why is social and financial education important?

It is the basis of life management and it will also assure us all a safer and more equitable future for our children.

What do you like most about Aflatoun?

Its basic ethos of the family partnership and the constant development of the curriculum.

What is something education NGOs have to deal with that you want to fix?

To move towards a more child-centred learning approach and to realise that the capacity of children today is different from the adults at the head of the NGO sectors.

How do you see the future of Aflatoun International?

I see Aflatoun International grow in the next 10 years as the need for life skills and social and financial literacy becomes more and more relevant. And I see Aflatoun`s curricula getting integrated nationally.
